In the spirit of giving and celebration, Flexisource IT hosted a heartwarming charity event to mark the birthday of our CEO, Richard Gross. On 19 September 2024, the company and its management visited Destiny Promise, a charitable organisation in Taytay, Rizal, Philippines.

Who is Destiny’s Promise?

Destiny’s Promise is a charitable organisation committed to providing a nurturing and safe environment for children in need. Their mission is centred on ensuring every child has access to safety and a chance to be part of a permanent, loving family. 

The organisation operates using two (2) approaches. First, they offer a home-like setting where children are cared for by dedicated house parents. Second, they provide a supportive environment as the initial step toward the children’s emotional and physical recovery. 

To this day, Destiny’s Promise has successfully helped nearly 100 children transition into permanent family settings.

A Day Filled with Fun and Games

As part of Flexisource IT’s social corporate responsibility or Flexicare initiatives, we aim to promote the spirit of giving back through community engagement. Thus, during this initiative, our company went above and beyond to ensure that this charity event would benefit and be fun for the children. 

Our employees hosted a series of classic Filipino games such as “Trip to Jerusalem,” “Stop Dance,” “The Boat is Sinking,” “Longest Greeting,” and “Pasabit.” Moreover, we brought some food and drinks from KFC, a welcome change from the usual meals donated by other benefactors. This touch allowed the children to enjoy a variety of food, making the day even more special.

In addition to the fun-filled afternoon, our company also contributed an array of essential items needed by the shelter. The donations included toiletries, food supplies, cleaning items, children’s necessities, and medicines. Toys and sports equipment were also provided, ensuring that the children had new sources of joy and recreation.

Our COO, Missy Arcenal, also gave a heartfelt speech where she emphasised the company’s commitment to giving back to the community. She also highlighted the importance of corporate responsibility and the positive impact it makes on the lives of those in need.

The charity event culminated with the singing of ‘Happy Birthday’ for the CEO. The children also presented a certificate of appreciation to Flexisource IT, marking a day of joyful and meaningful memories.

Reflecting on a Day of Joy and Generosity

As the day concluded, it was clear that the charity event had left a lasting impression on all who attended. The children’s gratefulness for even the simplest of gifts was a poignant reminder of the difference that thoughtful contributions can make. 

Flexisource IT’s initiative fostered a spirit of community and care. It set a commendable example of how businesses can contribute to society in truly impactful ways.
