Aina Arceo, a Flexisource IT employee, got the chance to have an amazing trip to Australia. She was informed of their communication channel that there was a staff trip to Australia in June. Because of her excellent performance, Aina was one of the few chosen to travel from the Philippines to Australia.  The best part? Everything went well for her! Not only did she experience seamless preparation thanks to COO Missy Arcenal’s assistance as she prepared for her trip. Flexisource IT’s Support Pre-Travel Visa applications are required to travel to Australia. That’s why Flexisource IT went ahead and assisted Aina with the process with follow-ups and reminders of everything required for the process.  It was especially memorable for Aina since it was her first time traveling overseas, That’s why Miss Missy especially assisted her in securing a passport and handling a visa application before the trip itself. Melbourne-bound to Phillip Island Aina landed in Melbourne, Australia, on November 10, 2024. The first thing she did was wait for other international team members before heading to their accommodation. Once they got settled, they had lunch with the client’s CEO and the in-house team members. Aina found herself in a unique opportunity to connect in person with the clients she works with remotely. Overall they had established great rapport and better communications to strengthen their relationship. She believes this experience will make her work more productive, and enjoyable, and improve their speed in accomplishing their client’s goals. But that wasn’t the only thing Aina did. She also went sightseeing! The memorable trip for Aina included a trip to Phillip Island which is 90 minutes away from Melbourne. Along with the other team members they experienced a tour of Moonlit Sanctuary, which is a conservation park for wildlife.  After that, they visited the island’s Chocolate Factory and the beach for photos and toured the refreshing island. The last thing they did before going home was to see the Phillip Island Penguin Parade, where they saw adorable penguins marching across the beach.  Aina and the team also had a pleasant drive through Brighton with Flexisource IT’s founder, Richard Gross, to see the beach huts, Chapel Street, and Prahran.  A Retrospective of Her Journey Reflecting on her incredible trip to Australia, Aina found it productive and an overall positive experience meeting her colleagues and international team members all at the touchbase of Melbourne.  Her first time traveling outside of the Philippines made her excited as she tasted Australian cuisine, experienced its weather, and learned more about the work culture of her clients. She was proud to experience having casual conversations with her client and his wife to understand what they were like and for them to know her better in return. However, the highlight of her experience was finally meeting Rich in person. Coming Home When she got back home, Aina felt accomplished despite the exhaustion caused by the plane ride. Despite being tired, she managed to gain a great opportunity she appreciates by visiting Australia and excitement on implementing everything she learned from her trip to her day-to-day work. Now at home, Aina realizes that the meaning behind the Australian trip wasn’t just for work–it was about relationship building. Finally, meeting her colleagues and clients based in Australia gave her a chance to connect with them and understand that diversity encourages positive change. She also realised how supportive Flexisource IT was. Because of Flexisource IT’s assistance from pre-travel to her return to the Philippines, she learned that everyone has a chance to travel for work and gain priceless moments. Since the trip Aina has become more open-minded and adaptable to the different work cultures and exposed to the different ways of life other people have. With her broadened perspective, she’s ready to continue her journey in being a world-class talent.
